Claims Application Process

  • Step 1 – Claim Notification: Clients notify Minet Botswana immediately after an incident, ideally within 24 hours of occurrence but should be within 30 days.
  • Step 2 – Submission of Claim Form & Supporting Documents: Claimants submit completed claim forms along with required supporting documents (e.g., policy details, invoices, photos) via the online portal or email.
  • Step 3 – Preliminary Assessment: Our claims team reviews submitted documents and conducts initial assessment to verify coverage and eligibility.
  • Step 4 – Appointment of Loss Adjuster: A qualified loss adjuster is appointed to assess damages and validate claims.
  • Step 5 – Claim Evaluation & Decision: Based on documentation and adjuster’s report, the insurer makes a decision on approval, partial approval, or repudiation.
  • Step 6 – Payment or Settlement: Once approved, claim payouts are processed promptly according to the policy terms.
  • Step 7 – Claim Closure: The claim is formally closed after settlement, with all documentation recorded for future reference.

Key Timelines

  • Claims should be reported as soon as possible, ideally within 24–48 hours of the incident.
  • Supporting documents should be submitted within 7 days to avoid delays in processing.
  • Preliminary assessment is generally completed within 3–5 business days.
  • Loss adjuster evaluations (if applicable) are completed within 7–10 business days.
  • Final claim decisions are typically communicated within 10–14 business days after all documentation and assessments are received.
  • Claim payouts are made immediately upon approval, usually within 2–5 business days.
